Esclans Valley Prestige, Mouthwatering Rosé Value

Every year, Château des Demoiselles crafts dynamic, mouthwatering rosé with a distinguished Provençal character. And nearly every year, it sells out right away, leaving a wake of member-reviews like “Loved it—light and refreshing” and “Wish I could buy more.”

The 2023 is the very first officially organic vintage of their bone-dry, mineral-laden rosé. Grown on an estate just down the road from where Château d’Esclans makes their famous Whispering Angel and $100 Garrus, this is the quintessential French rosé. It’s fragrant, juicy, fresh, and crisp—a gorgeous representation of the world’s most iconic rosé region.

Demoiselles once belonged to the royal family of Monaco, and when we went to see it two years ago we marveled at the rows of vines stretched out under the azure sky, rooted in nutrient-poor, well-draining, brick-red soils of clay and limestone. The sun beat down but the vines found refreshment in the gusts of the mistral. It’s no wonder some of the world’s greatest rosés come from this oasis in Provence.

The Château des Demoiselles team squeezes every drop of quality out of that advantageous terroir, taking painstaking measures to transform the estate’s supremely concentrated grapes into a rosé of mouthwatering freshness. Harvest takes place at night to prevent coloring and oxidation. After the grapes have been gently pressed, the juice is cold-stabilized, allowed to settle for eight days, then aged on the lees in stainless steel, preserving the freshness of the fruit, lovely aromatics, and energetic acidity.

What results is the epitome of Provence rosé: a salmon-pink wine buzzing with energy, seasoned by the sea spray, cleansed by Provençal breezes.
