2022 Good Decisions Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 750 ml

The scores are the envy of the St. Helena neighbors. The wines are accessible powerhouses featuring a fabulously forward, luscious, dark-berry attack. The winemaker commands immense respect in Napa. Those are among the many highlights our members cite in five-star reviews of past vintages we’ve received from this winery. 

For years, they were instant sell-outs. The terroir—hidden at the base of Howell Mountain, a few miles east of the famed Meadowood Resort—is amazing. The Cab, creamy and supple, was fabulous. The price was just right.

And then, suddenly, silence.

Our main contact moved on, and for the past two years, the cellar doors wouldn’t budge. When we finally got a hold of the winemaker, he was apologetic. He told us their cult-like mailing list had exploded, and few bottles were escaping the members’ clutches.

A few weeks later, we got a call. There were no bottles to be had—but he could taste us on some barrels. If we wanted to put together a small NDA blend for our members, then he didn’t see how that could hurt.

The Good Decisions label provided the perfect foil to get around sold-out allocations and maintain access for our members. Born of steep, rocky estate vineyards and well-draining, mineral rich soils, the 2022 is one of the more powerful wines we’ve tasted from this winery.
