Additional Wine Information

Story
Incorporating solar power, biodiesel fuel and sheep that “mow” cover crops, Robert Sinskey Vineyards is an influential earth-friendly winery in Napa Valley’s Los Carneros region. The Sinskeys oversee more than 200 acres of organically farmed vineyards. This red blend takes its inspiration from Bordeaux’s Pomerol region, using Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc to add heft to plummy Merlot. Its name—“POV”—comes from the Sinskeys’ belief that the finest wine is an expression of a particular point of view. As Robert Sinskey writes, “Fine wine needs to evolve from a distinct point of view…otherwise, you may wake up one day to find yourself fabricating a wine to placate a critic or fill a market segment, and discover your craft has devolved into just another recipe for soulless wine.” The nearconstant winds and regular fog of Carneros keep grapes from overripening, preserving acidity. The POV cuvée features Robert Sinskey’s own black-and-white photographs on the label.
