Story
Since its inception in 1997, Kilikanoon has been recognized as one of Australia's premier boutique wineries. Founder Kevin Mitchell has made a name for himself worldwide by producing powerful, intense and complex wines, namely high-end Shiraz and Riesling. He created the Killerman's Run line a few years ago in order to make earlier-drinking, more accessible bottlings. Sourced from vineyards across a range of South Australia's top growing regions, this Cabernet shows off pristine fruit that has been carefully vinified and matured for two years in a range of new and old French-oak barrels. The profile is classic Australian Cabernet Sauvignon, blending generous fruit with savory notes in a silky, balanced whole. The wine honors a loner named Killerman who lived near the Mitchell family vineyards, roaming the backwoods and living off the land. Given that Australia's most famous wine grape, Shiraz, originated in Hermitage in France, Mitchell thought it appropriate to name this line of wines after a real-life hermit of his own region.
